I remember the first time I had a coffee at this place and I told the owner "this is the best coffee I've had in Barcelona", to which he calmly replied: "of course it is!" So it was settled then and there.
Barcelona offers infinite options when it comes to anything, and coffee is no exception, but I had been in the hunt for the classic espresso for quite a while and to my surprise, this place was just 5 minutes away from my house. It is located in a small corner and you will notice it by the minimalistic decor, the neon sign and the smooth jazz music that invites you inside. Obviously, the main reason I come here is for the coffee, but they have so much more. There's a lot of breakfast and lunch options and by night it is a full-on bar. They make a really good Aperol spritz, or if you want to keep it more local, there are vermouth and wine options also.
PS: Extra tip: if you take your coffee to-go, two blocks down you will find yourself in front of Sagrada Familia, which in my opinion never disappoints as a view.
