Fika Coffee was one of those coffee shops that took two great risks, but by having a well-defined concept and doing its job perfectly, succeeded in both: namely, opening its doors in the middle of the pandemic, and also choosing a distant area from the center (Sant Andreu) to start working with specialty coffee.
I had the chance to visit them the day they opened, and as I approached the spot, I had the feeling they would set the standard for the zone: well-taken care of decoration reminiscent of Nordic minimalism with a lot of wood and straight lines, excellent locally roasted coffee (Hidden Roasters) and passion for what they do!
They are located on a quiet street, but are very close to one of the area's main streets which has many pedestrians, so in these months since they opened, people living around there started being aware of them and became regulars. They serve espresso and filtered-based coffee beverages, and sweet and salty snacks - you can also bring your pet there and once I even saw a cat being petted on their IG account!
Elena and Dario are the founders and you will probably find them there working together in great harmony. Don't forget to taste their great pastries and if you are willing to get specialty coffee beans, this is the place. To this moment, they are the one and only specialty coffee shop around!
