It is true that you can find specialty coffee in a lot of spots in Barcelona, but as any other very touristic city, they end up being concentrated in the central and historical zones. It could not be any different in Barcelona, as you will find tons of specialty coffee shops in Eixample, Born, Gothic and Gracia. mainly. But as you go a little bit further, those great places for specialty coffee start to get more scarce.
But not if you are heading to Horta Guinardó region! In fact, there is a charming specialty coffee shop run by a couple who ended up being friends of mine. They have lived in Barcelona for a long time, having come a while ago from Perú (Orlando) and Honduras (Júlia). Recently, they decided to open their shop on the same street they live on, and the result so far is great. People who are fans of the product that live nearby have become regulars, and every often they receive coffee freaks from all over town, like .... me!
They are always innovating in roasters and products being served there and will soon become a reference and a pit stop point of people who are visiting the zone to know the Parc del Laberint d'Horta, a maze park quite near there!
