When you stay in Beirut, more specifically in the Hamra neighborhood, one grocery shop to keep in mind is Cheese & Olives from Fakhani. From a small shop in 1941, Fakhani has since developed into a renowned brand in Beirut and has become Fakhani Gourmet. It runs several shops across the capital of Lebanon. At Cheese and olives, you can find daily baked bread at a reasonable price, of course, olives and pickles, meat, poultry, and also dairy products and fresh vegetables. You can buy regular household items in their store as well.
When you have friends over and want a beautifully prepped ham and cheese platter, just give Fakhani a call and place your request: they will deliver your groceries to your address if you prefer to stay in. They have a full menu of food you can order from, be it a snack, a sandwich, or a dessert. And if you are really hungry, you can opt for their daily meal. They offer Lebanese and International food, vegetarian dishes, and "light" options for the ones on a diet. It is a little pricier than other stores but the selection they have and their specialties are worth it. So what are you waiting for? Mark that spot!
