Find yourself in Belgrade during colder period of the year, experience its trade mark strong "košava" wind and you will realize that this is a perfect city to have your umbrella broken by its strong and freezing swipes. Luckily, it is also a city where you can still have your umbrella repaired in the very center of the city, in this adorable spot, Živković.
The small shop packed with umbrellas of all sizes, colors and ages is a testimony of a time when things were not as disposable as today and when even umbrellas were made to last for years.
I avoid carrying an umbrella whenever possible – perhaps a denial tactic of somebody who deeply dislikes the rain, so it is very rare that I'd need their service. Still, just the fact that this place exists makes me smile a little and feel strangely reassured every time I pass Višnjićeva Street.
