It is not easy to find good Indian cuisine in Berlin. While there is an abundance of Sushi and Burger places, finding an authentic Indian restaurant is actually quite difficult. Chutnify is one of them, serving modern South Indian street food: dosas! These are savoury pancakes made of rice and lentil flours and are naturally gluten-free. If there's two or more of you I would highly recommend ordering several dishes and sharing them- that way you can try as many as possible. Dosas are a must in my opinion, but there are also lots of other specialities to choose from: idli (fluffy rice patties), sambar (vegetable stew), lots of curries and many others. There are several levels of spicyness to choose from.
The interior is very, very colourful and bright and if the restaurant is full, it can be a little cramped – the room is quite small. I recommend making a reservation! If you prefer to stay at home, you can order a takeaway there as well.
Chutnify has two restaurants. The other's address is
Pflügerstraße 25
12047 Berlin.
