I cannot be a self-respecting Brusseloise without at least one article about fries. Let me, therefore, encourage you to try Bintje. Brussels is the paradise of "frites" - people come from all over the world to sample them.
Now, don't get me wrong - I'm not suggesting that you skip going to Maison Antoine or Frit Flagey, the renowned traditional "frit kot" of the capital. However, sometimes, you want to sit down inside while eating your fries. Or you want a nice burger with it. Or you just want a bit of a more "elevated" experience to your snack. Like a nice beer from Brasserie de la Senne, organic oil, no crazy lines of tourists... If so, go to Bintje!
It's a nice post/pre-drinking snack place. The service is very friendly, the place is nicely decorated, and of course, the fries are excellent; unpeeled and freshly made from organic potatoes, with delicious homemade sauces to eat them with (if you want to be an authentically Belge, then just go for mayonnaise). Enough said -- Bintje away!

My favorite is Spanakopita, a buttery & flaky phyllo pastry with a filling of cooked spinach and feta cheese. For dessert I recommend a slice of Bougatsa!
