While heading down to Saint-Gilles for a show, I was looking for a nice spot for a quick bite. I opened my map, and I found Fight Club among my saved places. I was not ready to fight, but I definitely came there with a beating hunger. I know the first rule of the fight club is that you do not talk about it, but a good pizza always needs to be talked (and written) about.
They serve New York style pizza, which means thin and huge. You can choose among the classic Margherita, a Pepperoni (with spicy salami), and the pizza of the month, and also add some toppings (someone said Stracciatella?). The pizza comes in slices or as a full (huge) pizza, which can feed 2 or 3 people. As the weather was nice and warm, I ate it outside with friends, and with the traffic noise and the siren sounds as the background, we felt for a moment as if we were in the Big Apple (more or less).
A nice list of drinks is available, including a wide selection of vermouth. The show we were supposed to go to got cancelled, but the pizza in Fight Club did not make us feel the evening was completely ruined. Do you know another rule of the Fight Club? If this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight. So be ready to eat, and don’t back off from the battle. It’s worth it, I promise!
