Nextbike is a sharing system for bicycles. Once registered, you can rent bikes worldwide in all 100 participating cities. Whether you are looking for one of the 1,500 bikes in Cologne using the app or you're just passing one by, you can rent it with the app, via hotline or with the bike computer. Cycle wherever you want within the service area and and leave the bike at any crossroads to pause or end the rental.
That's it! 1€ / hour.
In Cologne, nextbike cooperates with public transport and is therefore called KVB Bike.
You might ask yourself: when would I use a bike as a stranger in town? Whenever you want! Like me! Of course, I also have my own bicycle. But sometimes I walk into town and do not notice how I've got tired and my legs are getting heavier. Then I want to go straight home. Bus coming in half an hour? Then I'm Nextbiking!
Or if I want to leave my car after a few beers with friends and prefer to enjoy the nice evening with a bike through the city instead of taking the subway.
And sometimes when I have visitors and some spots can best be reached by bike, then I rent them for everybody: up to 4 bikes can be borrowed on one name.
Cologne has many cycle paths and google maps will show them to you. So: get on a Nextbike!
