Where do you go for a Tinder date? Where do you watch football matches with your friends? It might be Bartof Café. But one thing this café/bar is notorious for is its open mic comedy scene. A scene that opens up every Tuesday, every week.
My roommate who works part-time at this café introduced me to the café and the open-mic nights. Even though I have to admit I never was a big fan of stand-up comedy, I do recognize that there is something inspiring in hearing the unpolished features from a wide range of comedians, who all bring in their own humor and take on the contemporary world as they see it right now. And well, it can even be funny and the majority of the audience usually strike many laughs during the evening. Thus, follow the sound of unfiltered laughter of the ever returning crowd.
If comedy is not your cup of tea, the place in itself is very cozy, with a hip and down-to-earth interior, where you immediately feel at home upon your entrance. One should not forget to mention the high-quality beers and beverages. This is important to remember if you do not visit the café on a Tuesday.
It is possible to sit outside in a large seating area and should you be so lucky to be in Copenhagen during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, the café also hosts jazz concerts at this time of the year.
