Literally meaning 'wax' or 'waxed' in French, this amazing café is in the very center of one of the most beautiful areas in Copenhagen, Valby! Apparently, the oldest café in Valby, Ciré, is an all-day spot, starting with coffee, continuing with amazing brunch, then snacks and lunch, to end up with dinner and drinks.
Surprisingly, besides its central location, a few steps from Valby station, it is not very touristy, most customers are locals, and to note here something very important for Copenhagen standards, that they take orders and serve at the table. Usually, in Denmark, you order at the bar, even at restaurants sometimes.
Bonus point: free water! Yes, that is also the case in most places in Denmark, you have to pay for the water. Their coffee and cake offer is the best whenever I visit - and quite affordable, plus there is also an outdoors area with heaters and blankets if too cold. The best place for either cozy winter times or sunny summer days!
