With so much ocean around, hopefully, you'll take advantage and eat a lot of healthy fish while visiting Copenhagen. This little shop is a place people travel to from the entire Copenhagen area to buy fresh and delicious fish. It’s been here since the beginning of time – maybe as early as the 1930s. Back then, the shop was actually bigger. As the surrounding road was expanded, the neighbor building was demolished - this building survived although it had to shave off a corner. Thanks to those relatively fortunate circumstances, you can still get fish here.
It’s a small shop but with a great selection. If you don’t feel like cooking, you can also get homemade fish cakes and remoulade, as well as different kinds of seafood spreads. And if you need advice or inspiration, just ask Lars and he’ll help you out.
As mentioned, people come from all over town. Several bus lines stop nearby, and the train station is not far either - maybe you’ll swing by after a trip to Ryvangens Naturpark or Mindelunden.
And a fun fact: the sign on the building is the original glass sign – allegedly, it weighs a lot!
