It's difficult to paint any precise description of what People Like Us is. This particular place is first and foremost, a bar that sells beer. However, that is a gross understatement.
As a matter of fact, People Like Us, is also a brewery, a social enterprise, and a place that enables marginalized social groups to enter the workforce. It all started with frustration, that other social initiatives weren't able to keep a hold of autistic people. Today this enterprise, brewery, and bar, is not only run by people living with autism, it is also run by war veterans suffering from PTSD.
The beer is brewed in Amager and People Like Us also supplies other bars and breweries with employees of socially marginalized backgrounds.
However, the place under the spotlight in this article is the beer bar located in the neighbourhood of Nørrebro. Here you can enjoy all the craft beer made at the brewery. The staff is ever so friendly and helpful and they'll let you taste several samples in order to make the right choice, and trust me there is a lot to choose from.
The atmosphere is informal and laid back. I often go there with my friends who live in Nørrebro. They are big fans and, so I've become one as well. It's simply a place that you'll want to hang out at, several times a week, Monday to Sunday.
It's possible to sit outside, and in the (short) summer, this place is simply wonderful.
