Riga-boden is a small shack with a handful of tables and parasols outside. It is located at the northern end of Litauens Plads (Lithuania Square) tucked inbetween apartment blocks, near the bustling streets of Istedgade and Søndre Boulevard. Here in the heart of Vesterbro, you can find this local gem.
Riga-boden is a very local place and I especially enjoy the mix of hipsters, students and families with prams that tend to enjoy the sporadic Copenhagen sunshine at Riga. The northern location and the large open square results in perfect conditions to enjoy the sun to the fullest when it is there.
At Riga my preferred drinks are Aperol Spritz and Gin & Tonics, but a good selection wine and beers from the Italian Menebrea brewery are also available. After a few drinks, the biggest challenge of the day is finding the restroom which is located inside the church itself, bringing a unique flavor to the Riga experience.
Don't bother hitting up Riga on a very rainy day as it will most likely be closed. Check the facebook page or call ahead for latest info!
