Copenhagen is blessed with plenty of easy access to the ocean, and this pier in the Østerbro area is a definite favorite of mine.
This location used to be a bleak and undeveloped neighbor to several industrial spots, but in 2010 the area reintroduced itself with a lovely promenade, a tiny beach and a 130-meter pier. Since then, it’s been a popular destination, and especially in the summer the beach can get crowded with visitors coming in from the suburbs.
This is a great spot for people watching. People strip naked for a dip, discuss life with a friend and a to-go coffee, or simply lie down for a nap on the long bench. Even when the temperature descends to freezing, you’ll still see folks making use of the space, many just walking to the tip, enjoying the view for a bit before walking back again.
With parking, a café, and public restrooms, this is a great place to go for a picnic. Bring a book and allow yourself to linger for a while.

What's especially great about this patch of nature is the huge grass lawn. A lot of people come here to play soccer, frisbee or to walk their dogs.
