With dozens of good reviews, I had to check out Sano Pizza for myself. Just steps away from the busiest bar/restaurant quarter in Dublin, Temple Bar, I was expecting a quick and expensive meal thrown together by stressed-out staff trying to serve as many patrons as possible, but I was so wrong.
The restaurant doesn’t look much from the outside but is a lot bigger than expected once you step in. The staff are so laid back but friendly and give you all the time to pick what you want from their decent-sized menu. If you’re a fan of chewy, doughy pizza like I am, this place is a mecca for true Italian pizza lovers. The ingredients used both in and on the pizza taste like they’re fresh off the boat from Italy and as they take just seconds to cook in the special stone pizza oven, service is very fast. I’ve never had enough space left to try their Nutella pizza for dessert but that’s definitely on the list.
The second best thing about Sano Pizza, bar the delicious food, is the price. It’s not often you can get a full pizza or any decent meal in Temple Bar for less than €10 but Sano offer their simple pizza for just €6! You’ll easily get a three-course meal for two for €30 so it’s a cheap date night.
