The current brunch trend has taken over Edinburgh and honestly, I’m not complaining. Forever on the hunt for a new brunch spot, I tried out what The Birchwood had to offer and it has quickly become one of my favourites.
This is a cosy and welcoming eatery located in the quaint Marchmont area. It is also a popular student residential area, meaning that it can be extremely busy on the weekend, especially for breakfast, so be sure to get there early to avoid being disappointed!
They have an extensive brunch menu with a variety of options from pancakes to smoked salmon bagels. However, I can never say no to a big cooked breakfast. The Birchwood offers a meat, veggie and vegan version of this British classic with extra Scottish twists. Take the opportunity to start your day off by trying our beloved Scottish national dish, the Haggis!
The Birchwood has a warm, homely feel making it the perfect place to come with friends and family for a meal or just a natter over a good cup of coffee.
