Biblioteca delle Oblate is the most important meeting point for the students living close to the centre of Florence. Unfortunately, when I used to be a student, I used to live a bit too far from it and there was no point for me in going to study there. Anyway, I always loved the atmosphere and the environment. I often stopped by for a while on Saturday afternoon, reading some newspapers, drinking something or just reading my own book.
I like it because there's a lot of free space in the garden and also a lot of space on the huge inner balconies at the upper floors and people can gather there, for studying or just socialising.
Inside the library there is a cafeteria (open when the library is open) and you'll see local students drinking espresso there at any time of the day and of the night, especially when exams are near.
