In my opinion, the epitome of “the girl next door” perfectly suits this ice cream shop: just 200 meters from my doorstep, it’s small, modestly furnished, and far from the upscale city center. However, if you happen to be in the area and spot a long queue on the sidewalk, you’ve stumbled upon Il Sorriso! Simply because, like the girl next door, it may not be the fanciest, but it’s the one that captures your heart.

Gelato can be crafted in various ways, and it’s up to you to determine which one is the best for you. Il Sorriso’s gelato is less creamy but smoother, the kind of ice cream that melts on your tongue (and your fingers), incredibly sweet yet authentically flavorful. Although I typically prefer creamy varieties, this one is lighter and won’t weigh you down all afternoon, reminding you of your guilt. Il Sorriso’s selection of cakes and small ice cream desserts make for the perfect gift to bring to a friend’s home. For instance, my official birthday cake is their Victoria sponge cake with ice cream and Nutella.

I highly recommend trying their fruit flavors during the summer, as well as their most iconic flavor: “Fiordinutella” (milk and Nutella). They’ve been making it for over a decade, and it never fails to impress. Moreover, are you a vegan? They have options for you too!

In conclusion: generous portions at affordable prices! Buon Gelato!
