Geneva is known for being a very expensive city, but in Plainpalais flea market you can still find some hidden treasures at very affordable prices!
The flea market takes place in the big square called “plaine de Plainpalais” every Wednesday and Saturday all year round, from early morning to around 16h or 18h in the afternoon, depending on the season. Whether on a hot, cold, sunny, rainy or even a snowy day, you will always find some stalls in Plainpalais flea market, that counts, at full capacity, around 300 stalls.
Planpalais “marché aux puces" has been hosted here since the ’70s and is considered one of the largest flea markets in Europe. Here it is possible to find deals of any type: from jewellery to books, furniture, antiques, china etc.
In my many wanderings in this market I found, not one, but many bargains, which I am so proud of! Whenever I have some spare time, I always go there again in search of new treasure to show as a trophy to my sceptical friends. So, enjoy your treasure hunting!
