The Bijloke is just outside of the historical city center. The former city hospital and the buildings connected with it offer a unique setting. Only very recently a new museum opened its door on this site, so there is really no excuse anymore not to visit this area.
The STAM City Museum is located in the old abbey. This building has many stories to offer and magnificent rooms to explore. Inside you will get an overview of the rich history of Ghent, using the most modern techniques.
Ghent is very proud of this new museum and no wonder, history has never been so exciting. What about doing your own research of the stolen part of the famous painting "The adoration of the mystic lamb" of Van Eyck?
In one sentence: If you haven't been to this museum, you haven't been in Ghent!
