There are many beautiful parks in Glasgow, Alexandra Park is often forgotten, however, because of its 'slightly out of the way' location. It is the main park in the East End and offers many lovely paths to walk, jog or cycle along.
You can bring some food and drinks to make a little picnic for yourself and friends. There are also many benches to settle down on and listen to music or read a book. It has a few ponds with some lively birds occupying them - just remember to take seeds instead of bread for feeding the little guys. There is also a great golf course which looks like fun, if you are so inclined!
You will find fountains and flowers to please the eye, it makes for a very relaxing place to whittle a way a few hours. Just come prepared with sunglasses and an umbrella, it is Glasgow after all.
