If you want a spot of delicious indulgence Italian style and you're out and about in the West End give 'Eusebi's' cafe/restaurant and deli a try, situated at the bottom of Gibson Street. The food and wine here is amazing. If you just want to stop for an espresso with cakes, brunch, lunch or full authentic dinner...
Eusebi's started life 40 years ago as a small family run deli with home cooked Italian dishes from regions all over Italy and has now expanded to the West End.
It is a beautifully decorated upstairs cafe restaurant with more seating in the basement area. There is also a deli counter which sells an incredible array of Italian dishes, cold meats, cheeses, breads, olives and peppers. From the deli you can buy mouthwatering take away meals... I tried the unctuous and rich Tuscan Beef stew, which was stunning. There are dishes from different regions of Italy, such as hearty rabbit and lentils or sunshiny Mediterranean fish or chicken dishes.
I had lunch from the 'Salumeria' menu, beautiful cured meats with cheese, bread and fruit accompaniments. Or you can have sumptuous pasta dishes from the 'Pastaficio' menu. Then there are the 'Cucina' with dishes like braised brisket in red wine or baked sea bream. Or try a 'pizza pinsi', an Roman style pizza. This and your pick of delicious sides and 'Dolci' desserts.
The cantina section is now available to book for private parties or special occasions. Now with dog friendly outdoor seating.
