On North street, close to Charing Cross station in Glasgow lies the Bon Accord, an award-winning pub specialized in malt whiskies and real ales. This is also a perfectly comforting shelter in bad weather, with a beautiful fully furnished wooden bar and Chesterfield armchairs (and a beer garden).
Aptly named, it is a popular destination where a diverse crowd come and mix. You will be spoiled for choice with hundreds of different British ales, international bottled beers and lagers on tap, and more than 400 malt and blended whiskies from all over the world. The range of whiskies gives an opportunity for everyone to sample anything from budget to rarer, more expensive malt whisky. They even have an online whisky shop and tastings can be arranged for groups (you can call and speak to the staff).
If you are hungry, the pub serves traditional and home cooked food from 11:00 - 19:45, and you can try the delicious steak pie and pudding. They are great value and the plates are generous. A vegetarian menu is also an option if that's your preference.
To me, The Bon Accord is a must if you visit Glasgow and fancy one wee exceptional dram!
