Again I'm writing about the cafes around Karhupuisto, and again about one of my favorite cafes in Helsinki.Â
Bear Park Cafe started off as a little cafe-kiosk, "lippakioski" in Karhupuisto, but later they also opened a cafe in the corner of Kaarlenkatu and Agricolankatu. The kiosk is open during the summertime, and the corner cafe during winter.Â
In addition to the cafe being really cute and cosy, it has also the nicest staff and a great assortment of pastries and sandwiches. Kulmakahvio gets their baked goods from the traditional Avikaisen leipomo nearby and from a French bakery, Patisserie Petitpas, so they have a nice blend of traditional, good-quality Finnish and French pastries. Kulmakahvio also serves "German-style" breakfast.Â
For me, having a coffee on the terrace of Kulmakahvio marks the beginning of spring. The terrace is situated so nicely, it's really sunny and is somehow shielded from the wind so that it is possible to start the terrace season quite early (by Finnish standards). It is a perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee with a croissant while watching the nice little park of Karhupuisto.
