I love going to cafés, especially to drink coffee in the Finnish way: big cups (yes, several!) of coffee and with something sweet to go with it. So I'm lucky to live next to one of the most concentrated café spots of Helsinki; Karhupuisto, the bear park, which is surrounded by nice cafés.
As I like them all, I can't really choose one favorite, but all of them have their own forte. And for Cafe Cardemumma it's the fact that it's like a traditional Finnish café with a modern twist. I like that not every place in Kallio tries to be the same hipster paradise.
They have a really good selection of pastries in general, there's always plenty of cakes, buns and cookies to choose from, as well as savory pies, and they also make salads and serve lunch. During the summertime I love to enjoy my coffee outside on their sunny terrace!
