Personally I’ve always loved travelling by train: the trains, rails and railway stations. I can’t call myself a real rail-fan or trainspotter, but I do enjoy watching trains coming and going and listening to their sounds.

Linnunlaulun silta, Linnunlaulu bridge, is a bridge between the neighbourhood of Kallio and the park-like Linnunlaulu area, situated on the eastern side of Töölönlahti bay and known for its beautiful wooden villas. The hills of Linnunlaulu and Kallio are separated by railroads between them and you can cross the gorge by the Linnunlaulu bridge.

The bridge is a great place for observing the trains passing underneath it – all trains from Helsinki go by there. But the bridge also offers a great view of the city center, to the villas nearby and to the Tokoinranta park and bay.

After taking a nice walk around Töölönlahti, almost a Helsinki-cliché but I do enjoy it, Linnunlaulu bridge is a perfect spot to take a little break and admire the view.
