As Finns love pizza (like everyone does), it’s no surprise that you can nowadays find superbly prepared gourmet pizzas in Helsinki. Via Tribunali’s ones are still incomparable in their own way! They started in the historical city center but after the success they opened a second restaurant in Kallio, which I've fallen in love with. After eating at Via Tribunali, I have to disagree (like many food critics) with the Italians & the people of Naples who say you can’t get authentic pizza as good anywhere else in the world.
Via Tribunali’s most known secrets are the authentic stone ovens, which weight two tons each and which were imported from Naples. But it’s equally about their incredible dough, the delicate use of quality ingredients from mozzarella to anchovies and the stunning tomato sauce, giving just the perfect taste & texture! I haven’t found, for example, such a balanced Pizza Siciliana anywhere else in Finland.
It’s no wonder that Via Tribunali is the first Finnish pizzeria granted the authenticity certificate by Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana. They serve pizza biancos without any tomato, too! And you can wash down the treats with carefully selected wines or Italian beer.
To top it all off, the two-floored Via Tribunali’s industrial look, combined with the open and laid-back Kallio spirit is just the perfect combination for all this, a real success story about to happen! Prices are higher than in any basic pizzeria but still within a reasonable range, given the quality. Hyvää ruokahalua! (Buon Appetito!)
