Let's talk sweet and write sweet. Baklava is an old tradition in Turkey. Even though the ownership goes between Greek and the Turks I believe that the scale is heavier on the Turk side.
Baklava is a rich, sweet pastry made of layers of filo pastry filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with syrup. It is characteristic of the cuisines of the former Ottoman Empire and much of central and southwest Asia.
This place "Güllüğolu" is one of the most famous and delicious of them all. Yes if you go to the East parts of Turkey you get the original and a much unique and better taste but since we are located in Istanbul this is the best spot. While you get in you will lose your mind with all the Baklava varieties. Don't panic, get three slices of the original (the one with pistachios) and a glass of lemonade. By the way the lemonade is as delicious as the Baklava.
You won't be sorry...
