Hangart is another small boutique cafe located in Yel degirmeni, Kadikoy, which is in a residential area in one of the oldest neighbourhood of Kadikoy. It's perfect, being far from the hustle and bustle of the crazy streets.
The best thing about Hangart is that they organise jazz concert events in the evenings. You need to call the place and ask their event programme before you decide to go.
They have a small stage and about 50 chairs for the audience - you would not want to sit on uncomfortable chairs when listening to really good music. It is also a good chance to listen to local musicians in this small place. By the way, they can sing both Turkish and English songs, so don't worry.
The night I went was perfect. We were just passing by and looking for a place to sit down and have a relaxed evening, and then the music called us to go inside. We did not even know this cafe would offer something like this and we really enjoyed the music all night.
During the day, it is just a regular café and I think it is a great meeting point for a coffee with friends or work with your laptop and play with friendly Street cats.
When it comes to their menu, don't expect any real food, but you can still find some snacks if you get very hungry.
