Located in Akaretler -one of my favorite neighbourhoods in İstanbul- Kafi İstanbul is on the rooftop of Capital Suites Hotel. It's one of the best new generation meyhane in the city.
Kafi İstanbul is one of those extraordinary places. In our culture we are used to shabby-style meyhanes and grill restaurants. But this one is far beyond the ordinary. It is very well designed and quite elegant.
This uniqueness is also reflected on their menu. For example, Atom is a traditional Turkish meze which is a mixture of yoghurt and chilly pepper. They interpret traditional tastes in a modern way, in this case by adding beetroot into the Atom. Surprisingly, the result is even more delicious. Also ‘Kâfi şiş’, their special, is a must-taste. Besides Turkish Kebab and lots of delicious traditional meals, they have their own signature dishes like leek pickles and kadayıf steak.
The ambience is also great; you can enjoy Turkish Classical music at the beginning of the night and later in the night be ready to listen to legendary Turkish pop songs from the '90s!
