Locals call this area as "Otağtepe Park" or "Tema Park". Tema is a foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats. They had been taking care of this park for years. Now some governmental entity is responsible for this area.
The park has an impressive view over the 2nd Bosphorus Bridge (in other words the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge), the Bosphorus Bridge (1st bridge) and Istanbul's hills. It is located in the Kavacık neigborhood just near the 2nd bridge.
There are a lot of flowers, trees and herbs in the park. Every time of the year, the park offers a great atmosphere. In winter time, I mostly prefer going there to capturing great pictures, especially on snowy days. In summertime we go there for small walking tours and for lying down on the green. In the park, there isn't any cafe or restaurant, but no matter: the view itself is priceless.
