Probably one of my favourite spots to get lunch on working days.
It looks like an empadaria from South America, because there are a lot of posters and pictures related to football.
You can choose to go inside, sit down and eat, or take away and eat at home, but believe me: sitting down and eating the wonderful empanadas with an avocado and tomato salad is the best "fast food" lunch that I have ever got.
In fact, in South America this concept of empanadas is similar to the American habit of eating hamburgers, but, in my opinion, a better one: all the combinations are brilliant and you have empanadas for all tastes, even for the vegetarians.
Still, there are other options if you do not like this kind of food, like ceviche or steak.
Another positive aspect of this spot is that you can find it in the middle of Lisbon - very close to Avenida da Liberdade, the main street of Lisbon, and in Santos, next to the river and halfway to Padrão dos Descobrimentos or Torre de Belém.
So go to El Pibe and try their El Pibe empanada (my favourite) or the Che Guevara empanada (or both); you will be pleased!
