Mezze is a restaurant inside "Mercado de Arroios", which is one of the municipal markets in Lisbon in the Arroios neighborhood.
Most of the municipal markets in the city have been - or are currently being - revitalized and are gaining a new force, becoming reference points for restaurants and fresh/local food (i.e. check out "Mercado de Alvalade Norte" also spotted in our city guide!)
In Mezze, they serve typical Middle-Eastern food and it is truly delicious, also with a very welcoming price. You can choose between combos or à la carte menu, and also get a good wine from their list.
The concept of the restaurant is also pretty nice and important: their staff is composed of Middle-Eastern refugees as part of a project of integration - check out "Associação Pão a Pão", the NGOD that gives life to the restaurant by training and employing people. The staff always treat us very well and is always ready to give good recommendations.
Everything is tasty at Mezze, but do not miss the desserts. The baklava (a pistachio puff pastry) is my favorite!
