I can't think of anything else more Slovenian than Carniolan sausage (kranjska klobasa). Even though a traditional Sunday dinner usually consists of sauerkraut, potatoes and Carniolan sausage (its original recipe is protected today), this is real Slovenian "fast food" place in the heart of the city.Â
The place is small but very cosy and the menu is delicious. Tasty and delicious "Halfie" (one sausage) is enough for a woman like me but the "whollie" (two sausages) is a jackpot for the burliest of men. You get it served with a fresh bagel, mustard and horseradish and you can get all this as take-away as well. Try to get a place next to the window. I love to eat a meal there and look out of the window and watch people passing by. They also have delicious home-made juices and if you're lucky you can get served by the owner and have a little chat with him.
And not only good food, even the name is pretty cleverly selected - klobasarna is actually a sausage place. And don't forget to check out the large sausage statue hanging from the facade. It is probably the biggest you've ever seen anywhere in the world!
