Morocco Bound is one of those places that somehow does it all. Tucked away in Bermondsey (an area once populated by printers and bookbinders), it is at once a bookshop, café, co-working space, beer bar and intimate events venue. You’ll know you’re close when you see bright green shutters and a terrace decorated with festoon lights.
During the day, the shop sees a steady stream of artsy types passing through its doors. Some come to browse the bookshelves, which are cosy but contain a well-chosen selection of contemporary world literature. Others, drawn in by the prospect of fast WiFi and abundant plug sockets, come here to work. You’ll often see them with a bottle of locally brewed beer in hand – I imagine that it helps get their creative juices flowing.
At 6pm, however, the work day is declared over and the shop is transformed into a venue for life drawing workshops, author talks, book club meetings, live music performances and poetry open mic nights. Book tickets in advance via Eventbrite to avoid disappointment.

"Love Walk Cafe" in South London's Camberwell: a friendly cafe in line with the neighbourhood around it. I would recommend their quality English breakfast.
