The Dog House London – Footy, friends and feels

"From the run-down chic aesthetic to the strong beer selection and excellent pub garden, there are no chinks in the Dog House's armour..."

There are many parts of the Dog House you can find in other pubs around London, but this Kennington boozer pulls them all together and gets it just right. The Dog House is not exceptional, it simply hits the nail on the head across the board time and time again. From the run-down chic aesthetic to the strong beer selection and excellent pub garden, there are no chinks in the Dog House's armour.

This is a well-known spot among south London residents as a premium place to watch live football -- on big game days the garden will be rammed with jersey wearers making use of the well-placed big screens.

With a strong food offering, the Dog House has ample seating on a hot summer's day, with rows of benches lining the street in addition to the main pub garden. In winter this spot doubles up as a cosy corner, with a two-sided bar and its eccentric interior making for a lovely nook to get out of the rain.

"The Nell Gwynne Tavern" is my favourite pub in the whole of London's West End. Dickensian, a country pub in the heart of the city -- it's both combined!

"Hackney Wick Canal" in London once a quasi-industrial wasteland, now a prime hipster hangout... I like sitting at the canal side with a beer.

The "Charles Dickens Museum" in central London offers literary pilgrims a rich experience. I like that the museum never feels overly stuffy nor stale.

"Emirates Air Line" is largely underrated, despite the huge sponsorship. It's one of my favorite ways to see London from up high -- and it's inexpensive!
