I discovered Gallia by accident in 2008 when I was on my way to a party outside of Malmö and missed my bus.
The next bus didn’t leave for another 30 minutes, so I glanced across the street from the Södervärn bus terminal and saw people enjoying a beer in the sun on Gallia’s patio seating. I easily convinced myself that I should join them.
Stepping inside to order my beer, it felt like stepping through a time machine back to 1991, and I think some of the regulars there have also sat there every day since the same year.
It quickly became one of my favourite places in Malmö, not just for the genuine atmosphere, incredibly priced beers or the fruit machines with dodgy characters playing on them that only add to the charm - it’s their menu, and especially the entrecote.
I have no idea what magic is happening in the kitchen, but Gallia’s entrecote is great really well-priced.
