Some places in Malmo embody the cool, industrial chic aesthetic that one may associate with a cafe in Williamsburg or Rosenthal Platz. Riket could easily be one of those understated eateries that you chance upon and instantaneously fall in love with.
What seems like an unassuming little restaurant, tucked away in a sleepy corner of Davidshall, carries an unexpectedly wide variety of organic natural wines and local beers to keep your glass full through the night. The bottles and 3 taps of beer are on frequent rotation, so this isn't one of those places where you can have a go-to favorite drink. Rather, every experience at Riket is unique and associated with the complex and nuanced flavors of the season. Amongst these unique flavors, you can find a regular rotation of some rich Georgian Orange Wines and some new-age French varieties.
As the appetite builds, you can find a small yet delicious menu that serves fresh seasonal produce made with local ingredients. Personally, I love their grilled Spetskål with local chanterelles. For something a little more fresh, their stracciatella, with Swedish green peas, pistachios, and their homemade pesto, is the perfect explosion of flavors. Whatever you choose, be sure to order their freshly homemade bread, which is available year-round and is absolutely delicious. A nice, crusty sourdough style crust encases a rich, buttery inside that smells absolutely divine.
Be sure to check out this little gem, and you might find yourself with a new favorite in town.
