Sometimes you just need to get away, you need time for yourself and time to ponder. When I feel stressed, when it all becomes too much, when the city buzz drowns out even my deepest, inner thoughts, I hop on my bike and just go, I leave it all behind, and head towards the ocean. When I reach it, I bike along the beach, past the marina, past the southern port, past Limhamn's port, past "Sibbarpsfältet", all the way to the point where 2 countries connect. There, right next to where the bridge that connects Sweden with Denmark and Malmö with Copenhagen, starts, is where I stop.
I get off my bike, sit down, and gaze out over the ocean. I gaze out and marvel over the structure that on average, before the pandemic, was crossed by more than 50,000 people every day! Trains carried more than 30,000 of those and an average of 20,000 other vehicles crossed with an unknown number of people. Right next to where Öresundsbron connects to land it's at its finest, as is the view of the strait.
This beautiful open spot overflows with flowers during spring and summer, the sky seems endless as it opens and connects to the world. It doesn't take long to find stillness, peace of mind and reconnect with yourself. It's impossible to feel stressed when faced with the simple beauty of this place. It's easy to let go and let serenity take over.
