My favourite place to go for a curry in the whole of Manchester is the Namaste Nepal, in the vibrant suburb West Didsbury. Namaste Nepal is a reasonably priced restaurant specialising in Nepalese and Indian Cuisine. It's sister restaurant just a few doors down, the more famous Great Kathmandu, won the prize for being the Best Nepalese Restaurant in the UK in 2019. I think the Namaste's curries are at least a similar quality and the restaurant itself is a bit more spacious and comfy.
As with any typical curry house, I usually start off with some popadoms and dips, while deciding which dish I want to go for, or which combination of dishes I can persuade someone into sharing with me. They have a good selection of most of the typical meat and vegetarian curries like Rogan Josh and Tarka Dal, as well as some speciality Nepalese dishes, which are just delicious.
Their dishes are generally quite spicy, I recommend being prepared and ordering yourself a glass of mango lassie to help take the edge off. You can always ask for them to make any of their curries a bit milder if spicy isn't your thing, but if you really want to go for it I recommending getting the "Aloo Chilli" as a side dish to share. It's no longer on the menu, but available if on request. It's a crispy fried potato dish with lots of chilli added. Beware, this is not for the faint-hearted.
