Arkeid is a bar located in Monterrey on Roma Norte where you can play on arcade machines while enjoying a beer with your friends.
In Mexico City these machines became famous at the corner stores, which always had one of them. Unfortunately, now they have been forgotten and prohibited in this kind of stores, but in the Arkeid you can relive the old times when your parents sent you to the store to buy tortillas or something and you spent the change on a game on these machines.
The place has the best and most classic games: Metal Slug, Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, The King of Fighters, Pang, among others. Their food and drinks are also good. They have different options like pasta, salads hamburgers, fries... as for drinks, they have from mezcal and beer to various cocktails. Try the mezcal cocktails; they are tasty but not too strong.
Also, they often announce on their web page discounts that go for a couple of days at a time. Some of them include unlimited drinking or eating and also unlimited playing. Getting a machine is free, you just have to eat or drink something from the menu.
Rush hours are Fridays and Sundays at night: during those hours you will have to wait a little bit to play, but don't be shy to ask to share a game if someone is glued to one of them.
