Universidad Autónoma de México –UNAM– or Ciudad Universitaria –CU– is one of my favorite places in the city. It has a large stadium, museums, architectural areas, cinemas, theaters and other things that make this area a great spot for a good time of distraction.
I suggest going through "Las Islas". This area of the University could be considered a kind of "central courtyard" that several of its faculties share. In addition, its gardens can be covered in a walk which allows a panoramic view of the Tower of Rectory, the Central Library and several faculties with buildings adorned by murals of different artists.
You can also go cycling through UNAM; Ciudad Universitaria covers a very extensive area, full of different routes and circuits that can be explored by bicycle. Do not forget to go to the Botanical Garden, it is one of the most beautiful and complete of the city and this enclosure is home to many species of plants in the Valley of Mexico.
Definitely a must stop in this city because you will not only be visiting the highest house of studies in Mexico, you will also be in a place that is considered an Intangible Heritage of Humanity site by UNESCO.
