El Diálogo de los Ángeles Mexico City

A café with history

""El Diálogo de los Ángeles" Mexico City is an unassuming cafe hidden behind a discreet façade. This beautiful courtyard has good coffee & food for cheap..."

In the middle of one of the busiest areas of Centro Histórico, a discreet facade hides a beautiful café behind it. Originally an Augustinian hospice, this place became a private home right after the independence from the Spanish Empire when the new government gave it as a reward to Vicente Guerrero - one of the leaders of this war. The family that lives here now decided one day to share the beauty of its courtyard with the rest of the world and opened El Diálogo de los Ángeles, an unassuming café whose specialty is the warm, agreeable atmosphere it always has.

They have good coffee and good food - ciabattas and Mexican traditional dishes like chilaquiles or enchiladas - and their prices are no different from any other small café. Half a block away stands the museum of José Luis Cuevas with his famous sculpture La giganta. One block away, painted in bright orange, is Academia de San Carlos - the first academy of arts in America. This area of Centro Histórico, for being the oldest part, is a perfect window to the past so, when going to Diálogo de los Ángeles, take your time to walk around and enjoy the coexistence of the old and the contemporary.
