Fonda 99.99 is a classic spot to eat Yucatecan food in Mexico City and I say it because it was my favorite grandmother’s place and we all know that grannies know best.
Lime soup, cochinita pibil, beans with pork, papadzules and more dishes from Yucatan is what you can find in this place. My suggestion is to share several dishes with your friends or family in order to try a little of everything and enjoy the good seasoning. To have an even better experience, leave a space for a Marquesita for dessert.
Some recommendations: keep in mind that the portions are small but it’s really cheap (all the prices finish with .99, lol). They do not accept debit or credit card, so don’t forget to bring some cash. Also, it fills up a lot but do not despair, you will get a table very fast.
The place is not super pretty but that’s the less important in Fonda 99.99; who needs interior design when you have great papadzules?
