I chose this picture to show this place, even though the Palace itself is beautiful, because I'm enchanted by books, especially when they are old, yellow and smelly (in a good way). Nonetheless Palazzo Brera (Brera's Palace) is not just a gigantic and fascinating Library, also open to the students of the Accademia delle belle Arti, the Arts University that is situated in the same venue, but it is much more.
It contains various forms of art, besides the National Library, in the numerous buildings and edifices that belong to this very Institution: one of the best collections of Italian paintings is exposed at the Brera's art Gallery. They also have an astronomical Observatory, a botanical Garden and two educational institutions such as the Arts University and the Sciences and Literature Institute.
The reason why I personally like this place, if there should ever be a specific one, is that it is really close to one of the best areas in Milan to hang out (Brera) but it presents a nice window for those who want to dive deep into some culture and beauty. Two things that are basically what make this country so interesting and should always be taken into account.
