Last summer I re-discovered one of my old-time favorites in South Milan: Frizzi & Lazzi. I have to confess it had been ages since I visited this super chill beer garden, but for a number of reasons I kept coming back this last summer.
For one thing, Frizzi is an unassuming, easy-going place that has been a point of reference in the neighborhood since 1982; second, I guess we all started to feel the need to be around friends safely and comfortably this year more than ever: and this goes for 2021 as well! Frizzi & Lazzi does all that, but most of all, if you're looking for a place that does not look like Milan at all it does the trick very well.
Frizzi has an inside room, but its best feature is the beer garden in the courtyard of an old-style Milan building. One the one side, you'll see the perfect example of case di ringhiera, and on the other a colorful sundial. It's the perfect spot to have a long chat and celebrate your birthday or rendez-vous with many spritzes flowing and a good panino or piadina. The staff is kind and friendly and being that it is also rather cheap, if compared to other pubs, it definitely makes a visit worth the while.
Once you go Frizzi...
