Pirelli HangarBicocca is a giant hangar in the suburbs of Milan, easily reachable by metro or train from the central station. Inside it, there are contemporary art exhibitions, and the best artists of today are shown with their latest masterpieces. Currently, for example, there's the exhibition of Maurizio Catellan (the same artist of the middle finger in front of the stock exchange market of Milan), "breath ghosts blind", and the whole giant space inside is used for showing and amplification of deep silence; because this is the inner feeling that the artist playing with the great space of the hangar wants to mark in the soul of the spectator.
Indeed, Catellan, in this artwork, seems to fill the space with tall and lavish structures, letting feel the void enacted by them in a deep dimension of darkness. The focus of the artwork is the 11th of September, hence wandering around the enormous spaces of the hangar, you'll find one of the towers hit by the airplane; in the middle of a wide hall, one of the jumper laying down with his dog, and so on; but, I don't want to spoil too much. By the way, the last thing I'll say to convince you to get there is that the hangar is financed by Pirelli, which has its industries not so far from there, and for this reason, the ticket is free; just reserve it on the website before arriving.
