Lavish lunch breaks or late-night beers can be a hot topic in Milan, yet Woodstock 3 would be the perfect answer in both cases if you're in the Porta Genova area.
As far back as I can remember, this friendly restaurant/ pizzeria has always been a reliable place to grab a generous bite and also an affordable one. What at a first glimpse looks like a regular pizza parlor turns out to be a proper restaurant with honest food options and a great (and pretty fast!) service: that's why many students and people who work in the area choose this spot for lunch. Woodstock is one of the temples of pizza by the slice – you should expect a thick pizza slice, not the Neapolitan round pizza – where you will enjoy a yummy regular cut or opt for the abundant slice. Piece of advice, the abundant slice really is abundant.
For pretty much the same price you'll be able to get a tasty “primo”, that would be pasta, gnocchi or tagliatelle, or a salad; meat-based “secondi” will be a bit more expensive. Besides, Woodstock 3 stays open till late and is a good option if you want to have a little nightcap after a night out.
Lately, there has been a proliferation of cafes, small restaurants and street food delis in Milan, especially in the tourist areas. Luckily enough, a few old-style eateries are still there, and Woodstock 3 definitely makes the list in the local people's choice award.
