If you feel like going out for a coffee in Montreal, you’re in luck because it’s a city with a range of options. From chain stores to independents, pricey to affordable, mass-produced goods to fresh baked, there’s something for everyone. I prefer cafes with more of a laid-back atmosphere where I can think, read or talk quietly with friends so H8S Coffee Bar is the perfect place.
With a heavy concentration of eateries located in the downtown area, it’s easy to think that everything is there. But finding restaurants, cafes, and bars further out which are equally as good is becoming more common. H8S Cafe is in Lachine, a 45-minute bus ride from downtown that’s worth the trip. Small and cozy with an interesting decor, I like going there for a latte or light lunch (grill cheese or gruyere and prosciutto) or baked goods, then going for a walk along the lakeshore right across the road. It’s a great way to spend a Sunday morning.
